Change Classic Blogger Template to New Blogger Template (Part 3)

Labels cloud

CSS part, place the following codes between the tags <b:skin> ... </b:skin>, you can place it right before the end of the tag.

Here's the widget, place it anywhere between <b:section id="'sidebar'"> ... </b:section>

The figures in variables under "// Label Cloud User Variables" can be customized to the way you like.

Save the template, and you are done.

Favicon in new blogger template

Go to "Edit HTML" under "Layout" tab, near the top you will see a line like this:

<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>

Copy and insert the following code below the line:

<link href='URL of your icon file' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/vnd.microsoft.icon'/>
-or-
<link href='URL of your icon file' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/x-icon'/>
-or-
<link href='URL of your icon file' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/gif'/>

Remember to type in the "URL of your icon file".

Save the template, done~

Steps on how to add a favicon to your blog or webpage

what's favicon? it is a short name for favorite icon. besides, it is also known as a website icon, or shortcut icon. [get to know more about favicon here]

kekeke... no worries, it's another simple HTML lesson here. the steps are really easy in adding favicon to your blog or webpage. =)

STEP 1:

you will have to upload your image and get the image direct URL.
the format of your image can be in JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP or other common image format.

[hints: to make sure it looks nice, try to resize your image into 16 x 16 pixels, 'cause when it appears as an icon, it'll display in 16 x 16 pixels.] =)

here's some free image hosting website who can host your image for free:

then, to add an icon that displays in:

the favorites/bookmarks list [proceed to STEP 2]

the location window of the browser [proceed to STEP 3]

STEP 2:

the one that displays in the favorites/bookmarks list:

* add the above coding into your blog or webpage under the <HEAD> tag
(before the <BODY> tag)
* replace the word which has highlighted in red with the image direct URL that you have uploaded.

example:

have a look at the bookmarks list, it will appear as the image shown below.

STEP 3:

the one that displays in the location window of the browser

the icon will appear beside the URL.

saw the image? it's beside my blog url... *blek* tired of looking at the "B" sign of blogger... *lolx* just kidding... i just wanna try something new. that's all.

i got back home earlier today, 3pm.... just work one hour after lunch... due to the sort of RMKC data. wuakakaka... i can back home earlier, avoiding from traffic jam and the crowd... love the feeling so much... *lolx* tomorrow will be saturday! it's my weekend... gonna go out with friends for a movie... kekeke.. i wanna watch "shadows in the palace"..

Shadows in the Palace (궁녀 - Goongnyeo) is a 2007 South Korean film directed by Kim Mee-jeung.
